This week’s peacebuilding tip from Jeremy Pollack is to stay curious.
Staying curious is a great way to mitigate potential conflicts in situations in your life. Curiosity is an open mindset where you can understand the other party’s perspective better.
Sometimes we want to defend ourselves and prove the other person wrong, but that is a very closed mindset. Attempting to learn what their positions, arguments, feelings, and beliefs are helps us understand the other party better.
By staying curious, we get to understand someone better, and when we understand someone, we can create better approaches to resolving conflict.
